Let Light Compose, LED Creation from the Piano

The elegant lightwave LED Wall light

This wall lamp’s design inspiration was from the piano, light becomes a melody played on the instrument. Its appearance is as elegant as neatly arranged piano keys, and can be used as an art work on the bed or the living room.

The operation is also interesting, you just need to slide your hands to open the LED lights, and you can light up a few LED light bars according to how bright you need. LED module glides in the vertical direction, the higher angle you push, the light is brighter. The gradient lighting effects show wave state, concise and fascinating lighting effects have won 2011 Red Dot Concept Design Award. Led related: led bulbs for home.

Creative LED screen light Playing the light

This is a creative LED light, after lighting it, it is just like a glowing screen, and becomes homogeneous comfortable surface light source on the table. The screen can also be divided into rows of button units, which are composed by a single LED light source and creamy white mask, and can be individually controlled to light.

The control of the light is very special, as if playing the piano, not generating music, but soft light. The mystery may be in light switch control, when you press the button unit, and rotate to a fixed angle, it is able to emit light. On the contrary, the change in angle will close it. You can press the number of keys according to how bright you need, it will be able to light like music.

Piano Lessons Improve Kids’ Grades

Piano lessons do a lot for children; they improve hand-eye coordination, focus, and concentration. As they progress and improve, the classes also instill in them a sense of accomplishment and help them develop a love for music and the arts.

They also help the kids do well in school. In the mid to late nineties, much research was conducted on this topic. One such study revealed its results in the Neurological Research, February 1997 issue.

Dr. Frances Rauscher, psychologist, collaborated with physicist, Dr. Gordon Shaw in a study of pre-schoolers and the effect of music on spatial intelligence. One group was given piano lessons and there were two other control groups who were not.

At the end of their research, Rauscher and Shaw discovered that the children who took the classes scored more than 30% higher than the control groups in math and science tests. It is interesting that learning the arts can positively affect performance in the sciences like math, engineering, and other problem-solving curriculum.

Other similar tests show that kids who take piano lessons score high in IQ tests and generally do better in math and sciences, particularly in abstract reasoning. These studies suggest that there is a correlation between the development and stimulation of neural pathways and listening to music, learning, or playing it.

It may even be beneficial to children with developmental conditions such as autism. It offers them an outlet for expression that they may not have otherwise. Of course, it would take a very special teacher for it to work out.

This is a great argument for getting your kids interested in music and fostering a love for creating it through piano classes. You don’t even have to tell them that the training is good for them.

While it may not make your child a genius, there is enough proof that learning to play the instrument will help your child. It is better to start as early as possible, but all hope is not lost for teens and adults. Rauscher and Shaw also noted an improvement in spatial reasoning among college students who simply listened to piano music.

So, while most of the benefits occur early on while the brain is still developing those neural pathways, learning to play an instrument benefits everyone.

But, if you want to give your child a head-start in life, find the right instructor and sign her up. It can be a very positive experience for him/her. She may even turn into a great concert pianist or, if his/her skills aren’t that great, she may still become an engineer or a scientist.

If you want to improve the concentration of your kid through enrolling him/her for piano lessons Kenner Louisiana based premier establishment for piano services can be the best choice. Enjoy the programs designed for all levels of students. For more details, visit

Piano Restoration – Important Steps On How To Restore A Used Piano

The piano is one of the world’s most popular and complex musical instruments. The piano action area alone is assembled from at least 500 components such as hammers, strings, dampers, screws and many other lesser-known parts work together to produce melodious tunes.

Today, the piano is the most popular musical instrument chosen by both old and young music students. Each piano is unique. Many piano lovers opt to restore their old or aged pianos rather than replace them with brand-new ones. Besides the sentimental value attached to their old pianos, the high cost of investing in an expensive new piano is a decisive factor in the growing trend towards piano restoration.

Restoring a used piano is very tedious and time-consuming, requiring the skills of well-trained and experienced piano technicians. With more than 27 years of experience and collaboration with over 40 piano specialists in reconditioning used pianos, we at Piano Malaysia produce five to six units of fully-restored pianos daily. We repair, restore, overhaul and supply fully-reconditioned upright and grand pianos to both local and overseas markets.

All used pianos at Piano Malaysia are handpicked and imported directly from Japan in batches. These used pianos are stored in a large warehouse before being sent to the factory for restoration. The complex restoration process goes through six main stages as below.

1. Breaking-down: Piano parts such as panels, tops, key covers, actions and keyboards are labelled and strip down. Later, the important areas of the piano like sound board, iron frame and key-frames are covered and protected with unused newspaper.

2. Spraying: This is a major job involving four steps. First, uneven surfaces and pores are patched. It is followed by spraying with a base colour, usually black. Next, sanding is carried out to ensure smoothness. Finally, another round of spraying with a finishing coat completes the job.

3. Polishing: All cabinet surfaces, covers and internal metal parts like iron frames, pins, strings and pedals are polished. These parts are replaced with new ones where necessary.

4. Action overhauling: Action components like centre pins, hammers, keys, dampers and bridle straps are reassembled and regulated. Key-frames and keyboards are adjusted.

5. Tuning: Once each piano is re-tuned to its standard concert pitch, it is ready for display and sale in the showroom.

6. Quality Control: Upon receipt of orders, sold pianos undergo surface re-polishing. Action parts, keys and pedals are re-tested. These steps ensure all components are ful1y functional and properly aligned with excellent touch and perfect tone.

These reconditioned ‘like new’ pianos are now ready to be packed with or without wooden boxes for delivery to designated destinations throughout Malaysia and overseas.

We provide customized services to suit individual customer requirements especially for overhauling of antique pianos or requests for collector’s items. We produce regular numbers of units of reconditioned pianos monthly. We are very proud to supply fully-restored pianos at much more affordable prices.

The Double Piano Bench – A Buyers Guide

The adjustable double piano bench has dual adjustable seating, allowing each player to adjust to their preferred bench height. The bench is approx. forty five inches long, thirteen inches deep and adjusts from nineteen to twenty four inches in bench height. Each seat has padded top is fully upholstered and finished in a diamond style button configuration. The adjustable handles/knobs are located on each end of the bench frame so that each player can readily adjust his/her seat.

Other models include double benches that are upholstered in genuine leather covering. Leather cowhide covering is ideal for benches that will have heavy daily usage making it a favorite with professional musicians and teachers. One leather model that is highly popular has a single bench seat with music storage. This allows one player, maximum space, allowing proper boy coordination in all ranges of the keyboard. The leather double adjustable piano bench has a heavy duty iron lifting mechanism that is rugged and will withstand constant daily usage, its wooden frame being made of solid hardwoods.

A double piano bench is designed to make seating for two players, more manageable at one piano keyboard. Instead of having two benches which are cumbersome and bulky, the double bench will allow dual seating that is functional and visually acceptable. The studio, practice room or performance venue will be aesthetically more acceptable and less cluttered with the usage of a double bench. A double bench is easily moveable and overall more compact and easier to handle than two standard benches combined.

Teachers and parents of younger students often prefer the double piano bench because it allows them to come in closer contact with their students, sitting next to the pupil they can observe body and hand coordination as well as play along with them in simple duets, improving musical timing and ensemble skills. Students at the intermediate to advanced levels will enjoy the four hand literature, the classical literature being varied and rich in this genre. The double bench will be a functional tool and an added asset to any pianist or performer interested in piano for four hands compositions.
